Here’s another installment in a series of emails that took place between Michael and one of his senior students beginning the Summer of 2009. May you find the exchange interesting and enriching.

Student: Is there ever any leaning from one person on another in a deeply conscious relationship?

Michael: Relationships that are truly conscious turn the leans and tilts of the ego into perpetual movements of Grace. So it’s not that there is no leaning, but rather that the natural ebb and flow of sharing, the natural give and take of deep communion continually and consciously inform an opening to what’s prior to the dance of the relationship. It’s a miracle when it’s done well and one of the most beautiful things any of us will ever see.
